Basic Skills Report

What is the Basic Skills Initiative?

The Basic Skills Initiative is funded by a grant from the State Chancellor’s Office. The Basic Skills Professional Development Initiative – Academic Fundamentals, is to enhance and provide basic skills, and by extension, English as a Second Language (ESL) education to students underprepared for college-level work, including those unable to pass the California High School Exit Exam. Each year Contra Costa College will update it’s Basic Skills Initiative report to reflect any changes that have resulted from implementation of its action plans.
