To the Students of Contra Costa College:

Welcome to Contra Costa College, a premier community college “in your own backyard.”  I am delighted that you have selected this institution to continue your higher education.  The college has been serving West County communities for over 58 years.  Our faculty and staff are proud of this long and successful history of service, and they are very committed to meeting the needs of each student who enrolls at the college.

A primary goal of the college is to offer high-quality teaching and learning opportunities for all students.  Our professors are excellent and work diligently to engage students in the teaching and learning process.  Students are encouraged to pursue their academic interests with the sincere support of our faculty and staff.  There are no limits to your success at Contra Costa College.  Whether you wish to train for a job right away, or whether you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, Contra Costa College is where you can realize your dreams.  Former students of the college have become influential leaders in this community, the county, the state, and the nation.  You can follow in their footsteps.

The physical environment at the college can only be described as beautiful.  We are now in the midst of a facilities improvement plan that will modernize campus buildings.  Our plans are to create a state-of-the-art educational environment that is energy efficient, and that supports and enhances the teaching and learning process.  I am sure you will soon discover that attending Contra Costa College will be one of the most memorable experiences in your educational career.
