The Culinary Arts Program offers an extensive evening program designed to appeal to all types of students, e.g., a novice cook wanting to learn the fundamentals, a seasoned cook wanting to sharpen skills, practice techniques of enrich a recipe collection or a cook-by-avocation who wants to learn more about international cuisine and to create great and exotic dishes from around the world in the comfort of one’s kitchen.

These classes typically meet one evening per week for 18 weeks and are taught by instructors with impressive backgrounds in the hospitality industry. At each class, students hear a lecture, see a demonstration, prepare a meal and enjoy the results of their efforts. The costs are much lower than the cost of a single commercially offered class. Plus, students get college credit.

The topics change from semester to semester and have included courses on Quick and Easy Meal Preparation, California Cuisine, Fundamentals of Cooking and International Cuisine.
